Community Tunnel Mural – Bales Park, Willoughby (2024)

Commissioned by Willoughby Council, this playful mural was created for the playground tunnel at Bales Park as part of a community arts initiative. The base design featured soft, abstract green shapes inspired by natural forms and was intentionally left open for local children to contribute their own creative touches.

As part of a live community painting session, young residents were invited to paint directly onto the mural—adding rainbows, handprints, flowers, and personal symbols that connected them to their park in a meaningful and joyful way. This interactive mural not only beautified the space but also helped foster a sense of pride, creativity, and ownership among the families who use the park daily.
